     Hi,

    I have been keeping an eye on my vanzo tank as I know there are tadpoles in some of the broms, everything has been fine and the female has regulary been depositing eggs in to feed them Now for the problem!!!
     About a fortnight ago I noticed that one of the broms had started to die off, over the two weeks it has gradually got worse until today when I checked it seemed that it was no longer holding water. I made the decision to remove the brom and try to retrieve the tadpole that was in there, this has now been done and I have put the tadpole in a small pot and placed it on the floor of the viv.
     This is my question: has anybody had a similar problem? if so how did you deal with it and also what do you think are the chances of survial of the tad if I feed it and regulary change the water in the pot??
     Any help would be greatly appreciated

    I don't think that a moved tadpole will be fed by it's parents. We grow our Vanzo tads with fish beads, in a set-up where they swim in water with oak leaves.

    With pumilio's I've noticed that a tadpole that isn't moved by the parents, won't be fed. So I guess there is a little to no change that it worked replacing the tadpole.

    Hi Steve;

    In the past I did move tadpoles from pumilio's, with succes; they did feed them again.
    Try to put it in another similar bromelia, but keep an eye on it, just in case.
    Offcourse you can also raise it by hand.
    Good luck.

    Thanks for all your advice, at the moment the tadpole is doing fine, I am feeding it with Sera Micron powder as the parents are no longer feeding it themselves. so hopefully it will be ok and morph out for me

    Steve.
