First frog weekend 2010 in Hengelo(ov)

Dear visitor,

The frog day 2010 will be as nice as always but with a new setup, a combination of a symposium and frog day. Van der Valk Hengelo offers excellent facilities for our club, this time the first frog weekend will be held in Hengelo on April 16 and 17, 2010.

We kindly invite you to an inspiring Friday evening where Mathieu Woldhuis will tell you more about poison frogs of Colombia and the possibility of protecting amphibian species.

We also expect several good lecturers known in the world of dendrobatidae .

Room opens at 20.00 p.m.

Besides travelling you have the possibility to stay at the hotel at your own expense. Rooms can be rented at www.hotelhengelo.nl. This way you will have a fresh start on Saturday morning, April 17th.

The frog day will start at 10:00 am *, because we have a busy schedule**:

Program Saturday, April 17:

10:00 am: start frog day

13.30 pm: Jan van der Meulen will give a fantastic lecture on amphibians in Costa Rica in a nearby room. This country is home to a huge variety of different types of poison frogs, tree frogs and many other cold-blooded creatures.

14:30 pm: Meeting Members Dendrobatidae Nederland

15:30 pm: Worldwide, there is a massive amount of beautiful species of plants, including a selection of plants, suitable for our paludaria. Peter Mudde will, with the necessary footage, show how beautiful these plants can be.

Entrance:

Friday evening: free admission; refreshments /overnight stay at your own expense.

Saturday: also free admission, unless you aren’t a member of Dendrobatidae Nederland, then admission will be € 5,- a person.

To reserve a table (non commercial vendors) for frogs and sale of food animals for poison frogs is € 5,- (1 meter). Reservation must be made before April 10, 2010 through our website, reservations during the frog day itself will not be possible.

Rules:

- No sale of animals, different than frogs and their feeding animals.
- No sale of plants or other articles by non commercial vendors.
- Wild caught frogs are only allowed with a maximum of 5 individuals, more than one year at your possession. And with valid CITUS papers.
-1 Frog per container.
- Containers are not allowed to be opened.
